A constant attachment to screens may lead to a growing addiction among today’s children. In our modern society, it is no longer possible for us to abstain from screens. We need them for work, to buy things and to get latest information.  There are extraordinarily strong draws to the digital devices, and it is important for parents to set firm limits when it comes to their children’s screen time.

Keeping That In Mind, We Are Going To Take A Look At Some Ways To Encourage Children To Spend Less Time On Screens:

Make A Family Meeting- parents need to get all family members involved in the discussion. Children should be perfectly aware that they need to reduce screen time and make changes. Set realistic goals for your children. Screen time for toddlers shouldn’t be more than one hour each day. For children aging 6 to 12, it is recommended to have less than two hours of total screen time each day, including the time needed to do their homework.

Make A List Of Replacement Activities- the transition will be easier if there are alternative activities that children can do. Children can be a little lost if they don’t know what to do. Parents may give children a soccer ball or other equipment to encourage them to do sports activities. Colouring books, Play-Doh, Legos, and various outdoor toys will make it easier for children to reduce their screen time.

Accompany Children- children can be more motivated to reduce their screen time if accompanied by their parents. Parents can teach children to do sports activities. Get some toys and sit down with your children. Show them new ways to play with toys and encourage them to use their imagination. Some children are eager to do things imaginatively and they only need a slight push.

Allow Children To Get Bored- smartphones and gaming consoles are very entertaining. Children instantly feel a twinge of boredom if you take those gadgets away from them. Boredom can be initially unbearable for children, but it’s a good way for them to creatively find ways to entertain themselves. Less screen time also helps them to develop proper communication skills.
